Xtreme Lashes wear their heart on Jo’s sleeve

Xtreme Lashes team up with Fox FM and Variety to give the gift of Christmas to families in need.

In the spirit of Christmas Xtreme Lashes Australia has become involved in Variety the Children’s Charitys $200K for 200 kids fundraiser promoted by FOX FM at Luna Park in Melbourne on Friday 30th December 2012. In an overwhelming and emotional response the final figure surpassed the 200k reaching over $425,000, which will now help over 400 families. Tears and laughter filled the day with proud carers and parents along with those who supported sharing in the joy of the children whose smiles were as large as the Luna Park Entry Clown!

Xtreme Lashes® has proudly donated by being privileged enough to have bought the left sleeve of host Jo Stanley’s dress designed by Toni Maticevski. "We wanted to be next to Jo's heart, as without her compassion this event would never have touched so many people,” explains director Louise Weston.

The Xtreme sisters were invited to ride the Pirate Ship, Ghost Train and the legendary Scenic Railway with members from 'Variety' and the 'Mirabel Foundation'. "We feel grateful to meet these wonderful people in person" adds director Fran Neal.

“Being a family business with eight beautiful children between us we are grateful that we can be a small part of helping sick and disadvantage kids have a happier Christmas,” said Xtreme Lashes director Cathy White.

The Sisters met up with Miranda Purchase from the Mirabel Foundation who explains “I met up with *Mandy and her family again on Sunday at our Christmas party and all four of them were still talking about the day at Luna Park. It was a really special day. Mandy was giving me some background on what Christmas would have been like for the family without the Coles/Myer gift voucher they received. It wasn't a nice picture :( The voucher has made the world of difference to this family including enabling Mandy to actually HAVE a Christmas lunch for not just their family but they are now inviting Mandy's son and his 2 children (the kid's cousins), which will make it a really special family day for them. The difference the voucher makes to this family is hard to describe - it's not just the physical gifts / food that's now available for them - it's the self esteem and pride for Maree to be able to provide and the decreased stress for her about Christmas in general - it's hard to put a monetary value on this....I get to see the relief in the carers faces but for those that donate (like you) it's difficult to explain the ongoing value. It's enormous. Thanks again for making Friday a special day".

*Names have been changed to protect those involved.
